Following an introductory lecture to OpenMP (see #11), consider ways to reformat the first session (or two) into a live coding format, for the initial practical content (in the first one or two episodes). Perhaps have short intro slides to cover any conceptual content (e.g. private/shared variables, etc.). Following this live coding part, the remainder of the material reverts to a guided self-learning mode of delivery.

One way to do it (similar to MPI approach):

  • Deliver episodes one and two as an introductory lecture (with initial practical bits in episode 2 summarised)
  • Pivot to live coding and go through the initial practical bits in episode 2 with attendees
  • Live code episode 3 (possibly leaving schedulers section as guided-self-learning?)
  • Introduce and move to guided self-learning for attendees for the remaining episodes
