Looking at this browser compatibility list, it appears that the AVIF format is now available just about everywhere, with the exception of IE and a couple odd browsers I've never heard of. We would like to start moving images to this newer, much more efficient format but need to be able to reliably produce thumbnails in it before we do. Is there any estimate as to when native support for AVIF files will be added?
