Qubes OS release

4.2

Brief summary

Qube Manager has a "View" menu in the menu bar. It allows to deselect "Menu Bar" (I think). When deselected, it removes the bar containing "View" (and other menus). As far as I can tell, there is no way to reappear the menu bar in UI.

Steps to reproduce

Qube Manager > View > deselect "Menu Bar"

Expected behavior

Actually I expected the bar containing "Search:" to disappear. There were two options, there are two qubes-specific bars, I wanted to remove both of those.

But I expected to reach a state which can not recover even less.

Actual behavior

menu bar is removed and unrecoverable. I have not tried other Qubes-specific windows.

Reopening the Qube Manager window does not restore the menu-bar.

You can right-click on the tool bar (empty space) and re-enable menu bar there.

I might not understand what the tool bar is / is referencing. But if I right-click in the bar containing "Search:", nothing happens. The same is true for any other non-VM-entry surface, except the scroll bar (which provides scrolling-related options) and the top-bar containing "[Dom0] Qube Manager", where I get a list of:

  • Maximise
  • Minimise
  • Minimise All Other Windows
  • Move
  • Resize
  • Always on Top
  • Always Below Other Windows
  • Roll Window Up
  • Fullscreen
  • Always on Visible Workspace
  • Move to Another Workspace >
  • Close

For example left of the "new qube" button.

That doesn't exist.

I probably hid that already, earlier.
