I never understood why support for this particular device was dropped by libfprint (https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/libfprint/wiki/-/wikis/Unsupported-Devices). My only hope now it that somebody finally develops a driver in order for it to be supported. Currently using Pop!_OS 22.04 LTS.
