Description of the issue

We are now close to complete the patches for the new oemetadata v2 release and will start to implement the updated metadata requirements into the OEP. Since the oemetadata now holds information on Multiple tables and the related metadata is grouped by each table described in one metadata document, we need to be able to handle this information correctly. The challenge is to enable creating/editing metadata for each table of a dataset while keeping it user-friendly.

We expect that first most users will create a table and create metadata for that single table. This will be a dataset in itself. But in the future it will be possible to create multiple tables at once and describe them in one metadata document also as one dataset.

Ideas of solution

We will have to change the UI for the metaBuilder page to show what metadata relates to which table to enable users to navigate the editing interface and keep the overview of where they are and what information is available for each table in their dataset.

The oemetaBuilder is now working with the oemetadata v2 schema. This means it can create or edit oemetadata. But as the backend in the OEP is still implemented for oemetadata v1.6 more work is need here.
