Hi @DarkKman, and thanks for reporting this. 👍🏽 It looks like your existing management script is very old, and is struggling to update itself. Can you please manually install the current sherpa QPKG?
|
Aha! Wonderful. Thanking you kindly 👍 Sherpa is back up and running. Still got a few issues with some QNAP apps (non-Sherpa related) but SABnzbd still not accessible. I got the results below which are a little odd. Is there something I should do prior to trying to update SABnzbd? e.g. apps showing as unsupported or not-found (in the case of SAB)
|
Good work, looks better already. 🤓 OK, next thing is to upgrade your QPKGs. Please run this command:
... and also please ensure all your QPKGs are re-signed, as the old signing certificate expires next month:

Regarding the
BTW: what version of QTS are you running please? |
Thanks (as always) for your wonderful support. I'm currently on QTS 5.2.3.3006 (I think there may be an update available but I generally don't update unless things break as I always have so many issues getting everything back up and running. Maybe I need to change my maintenance processes ;) Anyway, I used the upgrade new with partial success (results below) but looks like some issues with some and the re-signing seemed fine;
and
I can still access OSickGear via the web GUI but SABnzbd doesn't seem to start (and can't really test nzbToMedia without SAB. Any suggestions for next steps? I'm sorry to put you out... :( edit I just saw in the QNAP error log the below errors re nzbToMedia; edit2 I also just tried installing Watcher 3 as fed up with CouchPotato constant issues and got the error below. I already have Python 2.7.12.1.2 (which I think was from an earlier sherpa install) and disabled Python 3 3.12.6.1 (which I think was recommended at some point). I'm probably quite out of touch with requirements and apologise again for giving you an unnecessary headache |
No trouble at-all: that's what I'm here for. 🤓 Next step: please check your installation:
... then,
... then start everything:
With regard to Python QPKGs: sherpa uses only the Python IPKs installed through Entware. No external Python QPKGs are required. Regarding Watcher3, please note: development ceased on this application some time ago (just like it did with CouchPotato Server). It's still available for install, but may not work correctly. Try one of the *arr alternatives instead. The alternative for movies is Radarr. Radarr is not yet available via sherpa. But, it is available on the myqnap.org repo (for 64b CPUs only), and requires the purchase of the Apache84 QPKG as a dependency: https://www.myqnap.org/product/radarr84/ |
Well it is very VERY much appreciated! Thank you so much... Ran through all the steps and I won't post the output of each but ran a quick sherpa status after and...
This makes me VERY happy... Even Watcher started so I guess I'll give it a go and look into Radarr too. You have gone above and beyond so thank you for your patience and help! |
Excellent, no worries mate. :) You can also use the short-form of
The original problem happened because over the last couple of years, I've modified the auto-updater so it works a bit better. Unfortunately, it meant everyone had to reinstall the sherpa QPKG about a year ago. 🤓 Cheers! |
Hi. I have been trying to post on the QNAP forum but getting some errors when posting (so not a good day for faults for me)... So apologies for posting here.
I haven't had to touch Sherpa CLI (QNAP NAS) for a while (all packages were working fine) but recently Transmission stopped working so thought I'd go and check for an update in Sherpa (via PuTTy) and got a similar error to the one I found below (I can't access my own error now).
I followed the instructions to simply do a sherpa reset;
then restarted by PuTTY session and now I get the below error;
I'm hesitant to do anything further as don't want to lose (if I haven't already) the connection to all the other applications I installed through Sherpa previously. If I just follow the guide to install will this remove the link to the apps I already have setup?
Anyone offer any advice/help? Eeeek...
Thanks in advance!
