Mozilla 从 2015 年 GSoC 首次举办至今每年都会参加，每年都会有 10 个以上的项目参加，非常的稳定并且名额也在逐渐增加。包括的项目种类也非常多，参与 Mozilla 社区的项目是非常好的一个选项。每年 GSoC 开放申请之后都会在 wiki 列出一个 ideas list。在 wiki 中 Mozilla 会给出一些建议，包括往届入选的 proposal 以及一个 application template。ideas list 中还会包括 project 的描述和需要的技能，以及 mentor 和 mentor 的联系方式。非常便于选择想参与的项目，也可以通过给出的联系方式与 mentor 联系。
其中一部分的项目是通过 Github 维护的，还有一部分的项目是通过 Bugzilla 以及 Mercurial 进行维护的。这里有一些关于提交流程的指导：Creating Commits and Submitting Review Requests。建议在参与使用 Mercurial 进行版本管理的项目之前先对其有一些了解。
