This is a placeholder issue that will need to be broken down further after some initial research (NCAR/geocat-comp#464).

I expect to have an example or two complete by the end of iteration 1, but certainly not the full collection.

Just noting this issue (NCAR/wrf-python#257) asking about regridding in the context of the NCL transition over on WRF-Python. Having some regridding related content here could be helpful for questions like that.

Might be good to link to GeoCAT-applications from WRF-Python as well to help guide folks.
