Current implementation is limited to the underlying data source, thus no external data can be loaded. This doesn't comply with the linked data paradigm where client could dereference the URI (or URL in specific) to obtain the data decribing deferenced resource.
This could be quite useful with ontologies/vocabularies. It happens quite often that resources are in relations with named individuals, which could be automatically loaded from the named individual URL and incorporated to the current context.
We could think of a mechanism allowing developers to define the strategy of how and when dereference URL while working with data.
