Or some other way for people holding a dead-tree copy to 'click' on the various links.
I believe we can accomplish this automatically with a filter of some sort, so long as we have no hyperlinks in footnotes.
It also may not be a bad idea to have a website with all the reference/further reading links so people can easily get to where they want to go.
