From the bugreport....

Someone wrote, "the site was previously accessible from Iran, but now error 403 is displayed and the website can't be accessed."

They also added this information:
"your client does not have permission to get URL/ from this server"

I am not sure what is going on here, google analytics reports people still visiting us from Iran:

but our logs report through IP report no one with an IP code coming from Iran, however, there are plenty of requests with a country code associated to them

Google analytics only show requests that have been sent from a search of "lmfdb" on Google, basically, clicks on the Google search result page.

I am also from iran and I'm also getting an http 403 code. Now before I made this issue I felt like this was because of sanctions that have been posed on Iran, we used VPNs, proxies and they did not work, I was still getting the 403 error code, I used Tor and changed the circuit 3-4 times, and this time it worked.
You had to change the Tor circuit 3-4 times for it to work or otherwise it wouldn't work.

I believe you are confusing Google Search Console with Google Analytics.

I honestly do not know where the 403 is coming from. We use Google Cloud services to serve www.lmfdb.org, but we do not have any rule in our firewall or code leading to a 403.
So perhaps Google is enforcing some kind of ban on Iran.

I also tried to use TOR and didn't have an issue.

I do not know what is the issue, but I my guess if VPN's are not working as you expect is that you might have some data on your browser, e.g., cookies, that are leaking your location.

Regardless, you can alternatively try beta.lmfdb.org
