What happened?

The black bug is still happening occasionally on Apple GPUs even after the fix in Iris 1.8.4, but it appears to not happen as frequently as before though which is a good thing. Just to be clear, this is not a bug reintroduced with Iris 1.8.5.

This is also happening for me and is quite frequent (disabling for now).

villagers become all black, text becomes black and eventually black bars appear everywhere and GUI is unreadable

I have disabled Sodium and Iris and still get this bug, so maybe it is Fabric?

Have you tried updating your Nvidia graphics drivers? As to my knowledge so far this only happens on Apple GPUs with Iris.
