The default options are such that receiving/done to self/subject varies between the left and right column, when there are two options available. At a glance it may be difficult for someone to see which option is which. I suggest making the left column a self/receiving/subject option, and the right column a partner/giving/actor option for consistency.
Example: A Dominant wants to quickly scan through a new/potential submissive's kinklist in order to see if what they prefer aligns with their own preferences. At present they need to find the category, then the item, then figure out which preference is which before actually understanding the preference. Making left self quickly lets someone see what another prefers (left) versus what they prefer doing to another (right).

I like this idea, though given how much this is currently used already I think the update might also cause some confusion from current users. With that said, it's a good change to make for the future, but if I make this change I'd want to make a few other changes to otherwise also make the update worth while.
