Eboot.bin ps3 how to apply cheats ?

I am new to ps3 hacking system.
I just want to learn how to apply cheats to eboot.bin
I used artemis but the game freezes after 10 seconds of use.
The game I was trying was god of war collection( 1 and 2) I know there are save games of others but that is not the point I want to learn how to do it myself.
If someone can guide me through a link of a tutorial on how to do that it would be of great help.
How to find the codes which needs to be replaced using hex editor.
