The City of Chicago is getting ready launch its new 311 system this month.
The 12 long-existing 311 Service Requests datasets will no longer be updated after that date, although will remain for historical use.
We will be changing the way we present 311 data on the data portal, and will publish more details soon. However, we wanted to give advance notice about the status of the existing datasets.
For reference, the existing datasets, which will become historical only, are:
- 311 Service Requests - Abandoned Vehicles (3/7/2019 Edit: This dataset will continue to update longer than the other 11.)
- 311 Service Requests - Alley Lights Out
- 311 Service Requests - Garbage Carts
- 311 Service Requests - Graffiti Removal
- 311 Service Requests - Pot Holes Reported
- 311 Service Requests - Rodent Baiting
- 311 Service Requests - Sanitation Code Complaints
- 311 Service Requests - Street Lights - All Out
- 311 Service Requests - Street Lights - One Out (3/30/2020 Edit: See related post about this dataset.)
- 311 Service Requests - Tree Debris
- 311 Service Requests - Tree Trims
- 311 Service Requests - Vacant and Abandoned Buildings Reported
Please contact the City of Chicago Open Data Team at [email protected] or @ChicagoCDO with any questions related to the 311 datasets. However, please direct any questions or comments about the 311 system, itself, to CHIdeas.
Update 3/7/2019: Added a link to the post announcing the first new 311 dataset. Added a note about the Abandoned Vehicles dataset.
