Subtitles are downloaded by GiA, but some lines of the SRT text have a duration length of zero, meaning these lines of text don't appear onscreen, which is very annoying. The problem only seems to appears in BBC programmes.

The example below is from the show 'I, Claudius', episode 1, 'A Touch of Murder'.

When downloaded with GiA I get this text in the SRT:

87
00:06:43,240 --> 00:06:43,240

  • Yes, Caesar.
  • Bring in the cake.
  • But Caesar, it's for...
  • I can't

and the subtitle doesn’t appear, but when downloaded using Downie the text is:

87
00:06:43,240 --> 00:06:48,640
Yes, Caesar.Bring in the cake.
But Caesar, it's for...I can't

and this appears normally onscreen.

I'm unable to say whether this problem is due to Automator itself or the underlying Get-iPlayer software.

Many thanks,

Ray
