I've always used editthiscookie to protect certain login or pref cookies, but the feature is broken in recent versions of Chromium, so I've been looking for alternatives.

SyncMyCookie is about the closest I've found, but it seems like auto-merge only pulls cookies when the browser is restarted. When I clear history/cache, and then navigate to a site with a saved cookie, it isn't auto-merged, which is a real shame.
