Update allmangasreader.com to *actually* say how to install AMR into chrome to avoid "To protect you while you browse, Chrome only lets you use extensions that have been published on the Chrome Web Store" #163
Comments
Forgot to read the line on the fronpage: "Chrome prevent extensions from being installed from websites other than Chrome WebStore." (issue closed) |
Which does not relate to Chrome itself blocking from even enabled plugins not listed in the chrome webstore. (issue reopened) |
you have to use the developer mode and install the unpacked version of the plugin for it to work |
@L3nn0x Thx. Hadn't thought of that. Could you update the text on the website to actually say that ? "Chrome prevent extensions from being installed from websites other than Chrome WebStore. Currently it just says to manually drag-n-drop the packed extension into chrome://extensions. |
That manual drag&drop was removed in a previous version of chrome for security reasons as well |
This happened while trying to add the extension to the browser.
Google help page says: "To protect you while you browse, Chrome only lets you use extensions that have been published on the Chrome Web Store"
The help page futher reads: "If you need to use a disabled extension, you can contact the extension’s developer and ask them to upload their extension to the Chrome Web Store. This will allow you, and other people who use Chrome, to install that extension from the Chrome Web Store, or if you already have it installed, to manually re-enable it from your list of extensions."
Running version of web browser is 'Version 65.0.3322.4 (Official Build) dev (64-bit)'
