Correct.
For some NAS models, before v1.0.6 you needed to run syno_hdd-db.sh to set support_m2_pool="yes". But even with v1.0.6 or v1.0.7 if your NAS model shows annoying warnings in storage manager you can run syno_hdd_db.sh --noupdate to get rid of them.
Correct. If you later ran Depending on your NAS model and DSM version https://github.com/007revad/Synology_HDD_db may be all you need anyway as it makes DSM allow you to create storage pools and volumes on NVMe drives. NOTE: Currently the --restore option in both syno_enable_m2_volume and syno_hdd_db replaces synoinfo.conf with the backed up synoinfo.conf. So if you ran both scripts and then ran 1 of the scripts with the --restore option you'd need to run the other script again without the --restore option. |
